SOUTH BELOIT (WREX) -

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is proposing a massive fine for a South Beloit recycling plant after a worker died at the facility last March.

Reynaldo Hernandez-Ortega died after he became trapped in machinery at the Behr Iron and Steel recycling plant.

OSHA has cited the company for seven willful and one serious safety violations.

It's proposing a fine of $497,000 and has placed the company in its severe violator enforcement program.

WREX has contacted Behr for a response.
