A local man spent his summer growing some of the biggest pumpkins in town.
Bill Lowe is retired and spends his summer at the Rivers Edge Campground in Rockton. This year, he bought seeds for jumbo pumpkins.
Lowe says to get them to grow big, he uses hundreds of gallons of water a week.
"Well, the one I measured was 7-food around. The first one I imaged you'd seen more than likely weighs 300 pounds."
13 News asked if Lowe planned to carve his pumpkins.
"I hope somebody else will carve them," he said.
Campground residents say they want to bid on the huge pumpkins. Lowe is also expected to sell some of them at his vegetable stand just outside the Rockton campground on Meridian Road.
