WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WREX) -
Terence Doddy was not involved in the 1993 death of his classmate Stephanie L. Johnston, according to the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department.
The sheriff's department says that after re-evaluating the case, no new information surfaced that indicated Doddy was involved in her death. Physical evidence was re-evaluated and additional interviews were conducted with family and friends.
On Dec. 31, 1993 the body of 15-year-old Johnston was found in the Rock River near Rockton. The death investigation concluded the cause of death was drowning and the manner of death was undetermined.
Doddy is in custody charged with two unrelated murders. Because of this, the death of Johnston was reviewed.
The death remains classified as undetermined manner.
