South Beloit has new coach, fresh energy

SOUTH BELOIT (WREX) - South Beloit won two games last year before they brought in a fresh face to lead the program. 27-year old Justin Gumm is the new man in charge after a few years as an assistant at Jefferson. Gumm has spent the offseason instilling his uptempo approach and has a few days left to make final preparations. He's ready to take on the new challenge with the Sobos, and doing just that while pushing down on the gas pedal.

"If we were to hang our hats on something, I'd say I'm a high energy guy. We're gonna play with a lot of efficiency, a lot of tempo, offensively and defensively, just keep things simple so that we can play fast," says Coach Gumm.

"It's fast paced, we aren't stopping. It's just real quick, in everything we do, I think that'll help us," says senior wide receiver Alantrez Davidson. "We're just trying our hardest to win, it's been a long road at South Beloit but we're just trying to get back to where we should be at, trying to get back to the playoffs and win a game up there."
