MADISON, WI (WREX) - A California woman was hurt after sneaking into a giraffe exhibit at a Wisconsin zoo. It happened Saturday at the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison. Police say the woman told them she climbed a fence to get into the exhibit because she loves giraffes. During her escapade, she got an up-close encounter with one of the creatures. The animal licked her face before kicking her in the face. They gave her a citation for harassment of zoo animals.
