A Rockford Metro Enforcement officer is hurt after a shooting Saturday night.
Around 11:40 p.m. Rockford Police Department officers responded to the 4200 block of Auburn Street for an aggravated battery with a firearm. The head of Metro Enforcement, Larry Hodges, confirms one of his officers was the gunshot victim in this case. Investigators say the security officer was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but it appears that person is going to be okay. Rockford police have suspect information.
