One dead after park shooting in Beloit, others injured

One victim is dead and several others are injured after a shooting at a park in Beloit.

At around 8:40 p.m. Aug. 2, the City of Beloit Police Officers along with law enforcement from surrounding agencies were dispatched to reports of a shots being fired at Summit Park, 1218 Henry Avenue, according to police.

Responding officers discovered two male subjects had been shot and were transported to Mercy Hospital in Janesville for treatment. Another subject was also injured during the incident and was transported to Beloit Memorial Hospital for treatment.

At around 11:20 p.m., a female subject arrived at Beloit Memorial Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound that is believed to have also occurred during the incident.

One of the male shooting victims died as a result of his injuries. The other shooting victim is receiving treatment for life-threatening injuring. The third subject was treated and released from Beloit Memorial Hospital.
