Rockford Police make arrest in Churchill's Grove break-ins

ROCKFORD (WREX) - Rockford Police arrested a man Wednesday for a series of home break-ins in a historic neighborhood.
The burglaries were on Grant, Sherman, Sheridan and Boilvin Avenues over the last few days.  All of these streets are in the Churchill's Grove neighborhood.

Investigators said a suspect was quickly identified in the case and arrest warrants were issued for Nathan Lucas, 25 of Rockford.

Detectives caught Lucas in the area of North Court Street and Park Avenue Wednesday.  He is charged with three counts of residential burglary and two counts of possession of stolen property.

Police said Lucas is also accused of stealing from a store in the 3900 block of East State Street.

Residents with information on unreported burglaries or crimes in their neighborhood are asked to call the Rockford Police Department.
