Northern Illinois University task force fights campus sexual violence

Better sexual assault prevention and awareness--that's the goal of a new task force at Northern Illinois University.

The task force is formed after a White House report details how campus' can protect students from sexual assault.

One change includes educating all incoming students and faculty on sexual violence.

Changes like this one will be recommended to NIU President, Doug Baker, in October.

"Let's comply with the law as it is currently written. Then let's look forward to see what we can be doing in the future to do even more in this area than," NIU Vice President, Jerry Blakemore said.

The task force will also cover issues like domestic violence, dating violence and stalking.
