Murder victim's friends and family hold vigil in Rockton

ROCKTON (WREX) - As the search continues for murder suspect Terence Doddy, friends and family members of one of his alleged victims held a candlelight vigil.

Todd Hansmeier was discovered inside a call center June 30th in Rockford.

The murder of the 37-year-old rocked friends and family members, who say Hansmeier was a wonderful person who made Rockford a better place. They wanted to take time to share the best memories about him, so a friend set-up the vigil at Settlers Park in Rockton.

"As a community we come together and that's how we are. And in my heart it's just something I knew I had to do instead of mourning let's have a time to celebrate and think of all the good things Todd did in his life and who he actually was," Rick Montoya, who coordinated the vigil.

Montoya said more people than he expected showed up to the vigil, which he says proves how many people Hansmeier positively impacted.
