Rockford PRO/AM adds Ben Martin

ROCKFORD (WREX) -  Today the Rockford Pro-Am had a change to its lineup for the July 14th event.  Ben Martin has been added to the field to replace William McGirt who will be unable to come due to family obligations.  I’m excited to add Ben to the mix as he’s one of the hottest young players on the PGA Tour.  Much like Brendon Todd last year, Ben has seen a hot stretch this Spring making 6 straight cuts including a 3rd place finish at the RBC Heritage where he was in contention all week.

Ben becomes the 3rd player on the Pro-Am roster that is currently in the top 100 players in the World.  Chesson Hadley is currently 68th, David Hearn is 90th, and Ben Martin is 100th as of this Monday June 16th.  Adding players with Top 100 credentials isn’t easy considering the Top 50 in the World are all guaranteed to be in the British Open Field.  I’m excited that we now have 3 to go along with a number of other players with that type of pedigree in the Future.  Michael Thompson is the 4th rated player in the Field currently at 110th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
