Snappers' Powell named MVP in MWL All-Star Game

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Beloit Snappers had four players in the Midwest League All-Star Game, and they helped the Western Division cruise to a 7-0 win.

Boog Powell was named MVP of the game after going 1-3, with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Starting pitcher Kyle Finnegan got the win on the mound, tossing one shutout inning with a strikeout.

Snappers closer Andres Avila finished off the win, getting a couple of outs in the 9th inning, while infielder Luis Baez went 1-2 at the plate coming off the bench.

The Snappers take the field at home Thursday, starting the second half of the season against Clinton.
