Benches clear during Aviators doubleheader

LOVES PARK (WREX) - The fifth inning of the first game of the Aviators-Wild Things doubleheader took a turn for the worst after umpires ejected manager James Frisbie.

Rockford trailed 9-3 when Frisbie went on a vulgarity-laced outburst, and sprinted toward the Washington dugout, arguing with pitching coach Kevin Gryboski. The benches cleared, and both teams traded shouts and shoves before umpires pulled the two sides apart. No players were tossed.

The Wild Things won the first game, 12-7. The Aviators replied in part two with a 4-3 victory.
