ROCKFORD (WREX) - The tornadoes that tore through the South this week have left many families with nothing, so a Rockford family is stepping in to help.

Andrea Kuzniar's sister lives in Vilonia, Arkansas, and says the town was ravaged by a tornado, leaving several families in need. Now, Kuzniar is recruiting area residents to donate anything they can to help out.

"They lost everything, so they're having to start all over," Kuzniar says. "So, anything that anyone can donate would be wonderful."

Kuzniar says they're in need of the following items:
  • Trash bags
  • Non-perishable foods
  • Feminine products
  • Diapers
  • Sunscreen
  • Flashlights
  • Candles
  • Children's clothes
  • Men's and women's clothes
  • Work gloves
  • Shoes for kids, women, and men
  • Socks
  • Toys, books, crayons
  • Water
  • Blankets
  • Tarps
  • Pet booties to protect pets from broken glass
  • Water bowls for pets
  • Cat and dog food

Items can be sent to the Vilonia Church of Christ, 893 Main Street, Vilonia, Arkansas 72173.
