Freeport doctor removes crack rock from child's nose

FREEPORT (WREX) - Police say a Freeport two-year-old had a crack rock removed from his nose Monday afternoon.

The child's parents took him to a doctor around 1:30 p.m. Monday because he was quiet and acting strange. There, police say the doctor removed a substance from the boy's nose that later tested positive for cocaine.

The toddler's parents were questioned by police, but no charges have been issued. Meanwhile, the child has been placed in protective custody.

The situation is still under investigation.
