National Record Day celebrated at Culture Shock

Posted:
People around the area and around the country are celebrating vinyl. Its national Record Store Day. The event encourages people to visit independent record stores. Places like Culture Shock in Rockford save up some of their rare and hard to find vinyl and bring them out for the big event.

"We like to buy local, shop local, we encourage our customers to do so. We want to make every day at the record store, Record Store Day. But this day is definitely a special event to get new people into the store, to get people to check us out and think about us and just have so much fun," says Lauren Davis, Culture Shock, co-owner.

Davis says some of the customers started lining up before 6 this morning so they could buy the limited release records they were holding.
