Brookview Elementary students collect soap for those in need

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

A group of Rockford students are collecting a much-needed product that many people may not think of when it comes to giving back to the community.

Students at Brookview Elementary held a Soap for Hope drive, collecting various types of soap to donate to charities throughout the Rockford area.

"We're helping people that can't even afford soap and it makes me feel good to do this," fifth-grader Kate Dennis said.

One of the facts students learned during the drive is that dirty water kills more people than violence.
