Students at a Rockford elementary school spent their Monday learning more about the career options that will some day be available to them.

McIntosh Elementary School invited local professionals to speak to students about a typical day in their chosen career. WREX anchors Hannah Welker and Derek Bayne were just some of the speakers there to answer questions from students.

"This is a very good experience for the children and for these kids to understand what else is out there and see what kind of careers they may be interested in," McIntosh Elementary teacher Rachael Hill said. "There are some that they may have not even thought of and we give them the idea of what to shoot for for the future."

Other guest speakers included Winnebago County State's Attorney Joe Bruscato and members of the Rockford police and fire departments.
