RAVE board will decide who replaces Gordon Kaye

Posted: Updated:

RAVE has released the following statement.

"The Rockford Area Venues and Entertainment Authority (RAVE) board and SMG, the private management firm that manages the BMO Harris Bank Center, IceHogs, Davis Park and the Coronado Performing Arts Center, has accepted the resignation of General Manager Gordon Kaye and will begin the process to hire a new General Manager.  Kaye is moving to Colorado for family reasons."

We told you a few days ago about a resignation at SMG, the management firm hired by the Rockford Area Venues & Entertainment, or RAVE, Board. General Manager Gordon Kaye says he plans to step down soon.  RAVE city council liaison, Alderman Frank Beach, says the board is in charge of finding Kaye's replacement.

"The board under the leadership of attorney Craig Thomas, chairman, and the board are discussing that right now of what to do, where to go, who might come, what candidates there are and all of those kind of things." -says Beach.

We will bring you more updates on filling the soon-to-be vacant position when we get them.
