OMAHA, Neb. (WREX) -

A 23-year-old Sacramento man faces charges after authorities say he tried to open a door on a Chicago-to-Sacramento flight.

Joshua Carl Lee Suggs was removed from the Southwest flight on Sunday. He was charged Monday with interfering with the flight's crew. The complaint against Suggs states he refused instructions to return to his seat before trying to open a door about an hour into the flight. The flight was diverted to Nebraska so he could be removed.

Passengers who helped to subdue him told police Suggs had dilated pupils and incoherent speech.

He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
