Latest learning session helps education Transform Rockford

The visioning sessions are nearly over, the data is being crunched but the learning doesn't stop for the Transform Rockford initiative.

"When we talk about Rockford and the Rockford area in 10 years from now, we're really talking about a different population. A different population of age structure and other things so it's something I think you need to recognize," said Dr. Norman Walzer, NIU Senior Research Scholar.

Walzer was the featured speaker at this latest community learning session.

Rockford University played host to the evening. The last visioning session is being held on the 31st.

After that, Transform Rockford leaders say they'll compile the data and start building a strategic plan out of the input you gave during the sessions.

Tonight, Dr. Walzer spoke about what makes a group like Transform Rockford successful. He says much of it has to do with participation.
