Rockford police name victims, ask for help in fatal Seminary St. crash


The Rockford Police Department has released the names of the three women who survived Sunday morning's fatal crash in the 1300 block of Seminary Street.

Police say they found a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina crashed into a utility pole and vacant building at Seminary and Catherine Street around 2:00 a.m. The driver, 21-year-old Suaveya Williams, died at the scene.

Her passengers, 18-year-old Johnesia Smith, 18-year-old Monisha Rogers, and 19-year-old Jasmine Harris, were all treated and released from local hospitals.

Police are still investigating the matter and are asking for anyone with any information on the crash to call them at 815-987-5824.
