Discovery Center offers educational spring break activities

Posted:
ROCKFORD (WREX) -

For many students around the Rockford area, this week means spring break, but the Discovery Center is making sure that doesn't mean they're taking a break from learning.

The museum is offering a Spring Into Science event throughout the week from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day through March 28. In addition to the 200 hands-on activities the museum typically features, there will also be live science demonstrations, planetarium shows, and arts and crafts activities.

The cost of the activities is free with admission, which is $8 for adults and kids. Members and children under age one are free.

You can learn more at www.discoverycentermuseum.org. The program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council.
