UPDATE: Over 100 missing in Washington mudslide

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: 11:30 a.m. Monday:
Authorities say 108 people have been reported missing or unaccounted for in this weekend's mudslide.

However, Snohomish County emergency management director John Pennington said that does not mean all of those people are hurt or dead, it's just the consolidated list of those reported missing from various sources.

At least eight were killed, several critically injured, and about 30 homes destroyed.

The death toll from a massive landslide in rural Washington state has now doubled to eight.

Snohomish County Sheriff's Lt. Rob Palmer said four more bodies were discovered late Sunday evening.

Three people were already confirmed dead on Saturday.  Authorities upped that count to four on Sunday after another body had been found on the debris field.

The 1-square-mile mudslide that struck Saturday morning also critically injured at least 6 people and destroyed about 30 homes.

At least 18 people remain missing.
