Thousands come to see model trains at Rockford Train Show

And a long-standing Rockford tradition rolls into town this weekend.

The Rockford model train show is here, giving thousands of community members a chance to see large model trains, start their own set, and learn a little more about building.

Rockford Train Show Chairman Doug Loy says, "We've put this show on for 20+ years, and it's just to let the people know what model railroading is all about.  We have layouts, we have vendors who actually sell things, and we have people who explain how to do things so it covers the whole spectrum of model railroading."

The show continues tomorrow from 10 am to 4 pm at the Jefferson High School gymnasium.
