City of Rockford steps up pot hole repairs

This year's harsh winters is the reason behind this spring's harsh pot holes, and the City of Rockford is working daily to combat the problem.

Crews are working seven days a week to fill the thousands of pot holes plaguing Rockford roads and the City has even taken the extra step of hiring an outside company to help with repairs. Currently, there are over 150,000 pot holes in need of filling in Rockford alone, and the City says they know there are more out there.

City officials believe repairs will take between six to eight weeks. To report a pot hole, call 815-987-5763 or visit
