Four years of hard work paid off Friday for students at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford.
Forty-four graduating students learned where they will be spending the next three to six years of their medical training during this year's Match Day. The college's students matched in 14 specialities in 15 states, 48 percent of them matching in primary care specialities.
The matching process is computerized, with students ranking their preferred programs and residency programs ranking their preferred applicants.
