Belvidere High School students get introduction to STEM careers

Students at Belvidere High School learned a bit more about career options available to them during a STEM presentation Thursday morning.

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. The 10:00 a.m. assembly featured a video showing how STEM skills can connect to sports and future success. Two-time Olympic speed skater Jordan Malone was also on hand to share how STEM impacted his sport and his performance.

Malone earned a silver medal in the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.
