The City of Rockford has announced a delay in the delivery of new recycling containers.
Rock River Disposal was scheduled to begin delivering the larger containers on Monday, March 17. However, an operational system failure suffered by the manufacturer set production back.
The City and Rock River Disposal plan to begin delivery the week of March 24. About 1,300 containers will be delivered each day, and it is expected to take between eight and nine weeks to complete deliveries. The drop-off routing will start with Wednesday garbage pick-up locations, followed by Thursday, Monday, and ending with Tuesday locations.
