Small school girls All-State honors

Several Rockford area girls receive All-State honors in the small school ranks.

Oregon's Sam Lambrigtsen headlines the 2-A list. The Lady Hawk senior scored more than 2,000 points in her career. Our former Athlete of the Week was named honorable mention All-State as a junior. She improved her production as a senior to make the first team.

Her conference rival Ellie Lehne was named to the 2-A second team. The Byron junior was a force inside, helping the Lady Tigers win a conference title, along with a regional title before being bounced in the sectional championship game.

In 1-A, Eastland standout Lexis Macomber was named first team All-State. Macomber has been a dominant presence inside for the Lady Cougars, who head to state for the first time ever this weekend.

Elsewhere in 1-A, Dakota senior guard Jaycee Cleaver was named to the second team. She led the Lady Indians to a regional championship. Pearl City's Dani Lee received honorable mention.
