A 50-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a vehicle near the 3800 block of 11th Street in Rockford Saturday night.

An initial investigation by the Rockford Police Department shows the victim's vehicle may have been disabled due to her driving off the roadway and getting stuck in a snow bank.  After exiting her vehicle the victim was either standing or walking in the roadway when a vehicle traveling southbound on 11th St. struck her.
