A 31-year-old Rockford man was sentenced to six years in prison Friday for chocking a woman until she was no longer able to breathe.
Jack Clark was charged with aggravated battery. The Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office says Clark was at the victim's home in June of last year when an argument started. Clark grabbed the victim by her legs, pulled her to the floor, straddled her so she couldn't move, grabbed her by the head, and slammed her head into the ground. Clark then choked the woman to the point where she could no longer breathe.
Aggravated battery is a Class 3 Felony with a sentencing range between two and 10 years in prison.
