A student from Rock Valley College successfully created an app titled Midwest Fishing Adventures.
The app, designed by Josh Glovinsky, was developed to attract people who love to fish. It provides United States Geological Survey (USGS) water data, fishing maps and fishing how-to videos.
Midwest Fishing Adventures was published in early January 2014 after a strict app screening and submittal process and is now ready to be downloaded. It is a free app available for the iPhone, iPad or iTouch.
The app was developed during the Mobile App Development class Glovinsky was enrolled in the fall semester of 2013 at RVC. Professor Chuck Konkol, who leads the course, requires each student to create and app they would one day want to publish to the Apple App Store.
Professor Konkol said another app is close to making it through the Apple App Store. It's an underwater basketball game called Bubble Baller that was created by three RVC students.
