Farm bureau fights changes to renewable fuel rules

Posted: Updated:

Proposed changes to the Renewable Fuel Standard could affect our community beginning next year.

Business leaders rallied at the Stephenson County Farm Bureau building.

This is after the Environmental Protection Agency and President Obama proposed a change to the RRFS that would drastically reduce the amount of renewable fuel blend into the nation's gas supply.

"It doesn't just affect ag. and ag. communities.  It affects everybody who drives a car with gas prices.   Because we are really talking about lower cost fuel alternatives that are coming to the marketplace and we want to grow that marketplace," says Adkins Energy General Manager Ray Baker.
