Giant blocks of snow are being turned into works of art at Sinnissippi Park this week, and the organizers of the 28th Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition are inviting you to see the progress.
State and high school teams will be hard at work from Wednesday to Saturday and the public can view the activity from sunrise to 11:00 p.m. each day by simply driving or walking through the park. Admission is free, but donations from patrons will be accepted. The winning sculptures will be announced Saturday afternoon.
The event brings in over 40,000 visitors to the Rockford area each year. You can read more about it at www.ilsnowsculpting.com.
