State police said the suspect was a 12-year-old seventh grader.
Hospital officials have updated the male victim's age from 14 to 11 years old.
A student witness to the shooting says the gunman was a male student she believed was being bullied. Odiee Carranza, and eighth grader at the school, says the shooting occurred in the gym and the gunman shot a 14-year-old boy twice in the face and a girl in the arm. She said he then fired a shot into the air before dropping the gun and being grabbed by a teacher.
At least two children are hospitalized, both having been transferred to University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. A 14-year-old boy, the reported target of the shooting, is in critical condition, and a 13-year-old girl is in serious condition.

The shooting occurred at 8:11 a.m. at Berrendo Middle School in Roswell, New Mexico. Police have a suspect in custody.
Officials at Eastern New Mexico Regional Medical said two students were taken there after the shooting, but it's unclear if either of those students were taken to Lubbock or if the boy is a third victim.
A Roswell hospital is reporting at least two children are being treated for injuries.
