UPDATED: Rockford police release more information on hit and run

UPDATE 12:00p.m.:
Rockford police have released more information on the weekend hit and run that claimed a 27-year-old man's life.

Police say Michael Livingston and a friend were walking west on Charles Street, in the roadway, when Livingston was struck by a vehicle that was also headed west around 5:45 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle is described as a dark-colored four-door vehicle and was last seen continuing west on Charles.

Livingston was pronounced dead at the scene.

UPDATE:

The name of the man who was killed in this hit and run accident is 27 year old Michael Livingston of Rockford.  Mr. Livingston was a homeless person with family in the Chicago area.  He sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:25 p.m. on Saturday.
