New cork law to start in 2014

If you visit a winery and can't finish a whole bottle, you can soon take it with you in your car.

That new rule goes into effect in 2014. If you have an unfinished bottle of wine, you can have it corked and bring it home with you. Some winery owners say they think the law makes the roads safer.

"Patrons often want more than one glass but don't need to finish a whole bottle. And we always want our customers to get home safely so we would prefer that they not feel pressured to finish that bottle of wine," said Ginger Baerenwald, Hailey's Winery Co-Owner.

The wine must be re-corked and placed in a tamper evident bag.

Illinois has a similar law already in place for restaurants.
