Aquin beats Byron in Forreston tournament


Aquin (#3 seed) defeated Byron (#6  seed) 58-48 in the second round of the Forreston Holiday Tournament. Aquin's defense held Byron to just 5 points in the first quarter and finished with a strong 4th quarter to put away the Tigers.  Aquin's work on the boards was a big difference, outrebounding Byron 50-20.  However, Aquin shot just 54% (15-28) from the FT line.
Aquin had 2 players (Andrew Martin and Aiden Chang) log a double-double: 


  • Andrew Martin scored 15 points with 11 rebounds
  • Aiden Chang scored 15 points with 10 rebounds and 5 assists
  • Anthony Townsend scored 12 points with 6 assists
  • Krisean Coffee, Rian Borgmann and Abe Diemer each pulled down 7 rebounds
For Byron: 
  • Clayton Hoover scored 17 points (5-13 from 3)
  • Daniel Lowe scored 14 points with 7 rebounds
Aquin is now 8-0 overall, 2-0 in NUIC-East and will play Newman (#2 seed) on Thursday in the semi-finals.
