Belvidere man charged in connection to November murder


A 20-year-old Belvidere man faces charges of First Degree Murder for a deadly shooting that occurred November 30.

The shooting claimed the life of 18-year-old Giovanni Galicia. The Boone County State's Attorney's Office has charged Ricardo Garcia with First Degree Murder, saying his actions caused the shooting and the death of Galicia.

Anthony Perez and Ricardo Figueroa have also been charged with First Degree Murder in the case. The charge carries a sentencing range of 20 to 60 years in prison.

Garcia's bond is set at $2,000,000.
