Time magazine has selected Pope Francis as its Person of the Year.
Although it's just his first year in the papacy, Pope Francis was chosen by editors as the person who had the greatest impact on the world in 2013, whether good or bad. Managing Editor Nancy Gibbs said the pope has changed the tone and perception of the world's Catholic Church in a remarkable way.
Edward Snowden, who is known for leaking secrets of the National Security Agency, came in second in the votes. The choice was announced Wednesday morning during the "Today" show.
