Free holiday movie night at the Coronado


A number of holiday favorites are headed to the big screen in Rockford, and you can see them for free.

The Rockford Area Venues and Entertainment Authority or RAVE is hosting "Holiday Movie Festival" at the Coronado Performing Arts Center. It starts December 14th. The public is welcome to the free event that will play three holiday movies. Those movies are The Polar Express, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and It's a Wonderful Life.

"There's a lot of memories in this town of going to the Coronado, seeing movies with your parents or first dates, and we thought it would be nice with the holiday's coming to kind of recreate that atmosphere give a nod to the history remember our history and also give a gift to the community," said Mike Schirger, RAVE board member.

The event begins at 1pm and will last until 6:30. People can stay for just one movie or all three.
