Even though the test isn't until April, classes are already being offered to help high school students prepare for the ACT.
The Belvidere ACT prep course registration is now open and available for students to sign up. It's a five week class that meets for a few hours on Saturdays. It's designed to help high school juniors prepare for the ACT.
The cost for the course is $130 and includes a testing workbook.
"But I'd say the average improvement of taking the class probably goes two to 3 points which on the ACT is big," said Matt Zickert, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Staff. "It's an opportunity we try and give students in Belvidere to prepare better for the test they are going to take in April."
Information will be sent to Belvidere students homes or you can find it on the school's website. The deadline for registering is January 27.
