UPDATE: Belvidere murder suspect turns himself in

UPDATE: Murder suspect Anthony M. Perez turned himself into Belvidere Police around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.  Perez has been charged with first-degree murder and remains in custody in the Boone County Jail on $10 million bond.

A teenager is dead and Belvidere Police say they're working to track down a suspect with known gang connections.

18-year-old Giovanni Galicia was found dead in a car near the 2100 block of Lakeshore Drive in Belvidere.

Police have already tracked down three people they believe are connected with the shooting, but another suspect got away.  The person they are still searching for is Anthony Perez, a known gang member.  He is Hispanic, about 5'10" with black hair.

Two of the three suspects in custody are 22-year-old Ricardo Figueroa, also a known gang member in Belvidere as well as 20-year-old Cheyanne Patton.  The third suspect in custody is currently being treated in a Rockford hospital.
