Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church is hosting its annual Holiday Bake Sale and Bazaar this weekend and will give a portion of its proceeds to Washington, Illinois tornado recovery.
The sale will include a variety of traditional Greek pastries, including baklava, melomakarona, kourabiedes, karithopita, breads, and spinach and cheese pies. In addition, a light luncheon will be offered on both days from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. featuring pastitsio, salad, a roll, dessert, and coffee for $8.
Icons, inspirational and children's books, nightlights, jewelry, boutique items, and the church's cookbook, "A Mosaic of Greet & Ethnic Cooking" are also available for purchase.
The sale runs until 5:30 p.m. on Friday and from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23.
The church is located at 108 North Fifth Street in Rockford.
