3 hurt, 1 cited for DUI in Jo Daviess County crash


Officers with the Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Department responded to IL Route 84 South, just north of West Whitton Road around 8:20 p.m. Thursday for a traffic crash with injuries.

Investigation showed a red Ford truck driven by 34-year-old Jeffrey Bourrette of Savanna was going south on Route 84 when the truck left the road, hit the ditch, and overturned several times. Bourrette and his two passengers, 43-year-old Patricia Eadie and 52-year-old William Reiner, both of Savanna, were taken to local hospitals for unspecified injuries.

Bourrette was charged with the following:

  • Driving too fast for conditions
  • Improper lane usage
  • Failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident
  • Failure to wear seatbelt
  • Driving while license suspended
  • Driving under the influence

The crash is still under investigation.
