Posted:
WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WREX) -

Equestrian trails at some Winnebago County Forest Preserves will close during upcoming weekends to allow for Firearm Deer Season.

The trails at Deer Run, Oak Ridge, Rotary, Sugar River, and Seward Bluffs will close from November 22-24, December 5-8, December 26-29, and January 17-19 for hunting activity on surrounding properties.

Most forest preserve gates will close for the winter, but they will stay open to foot traffic for hiking, cross-country skiing, and snow shoeing.
