Rock Valley College's Marquiesha Grant has been named Player of the Week for NJCAA Region IV, Division III women's basketball for the week of November 11-17.
Grant scored 37 points in her lone game that week in a loss to Kishwaukee College. She also added ten rebounds, three assists, five steals, and a blocked shot in the contest.
The two-time defending national champion Golden Eagles are off to a 4-1 start this season and are currently the #1 ranked team in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.
The Rock Valley College Men's Basketball team is ranked #1 in the latest NJCAA Division III Region IV poll.  This is the first time RVC has been the outright #1 ranked team in the region for over a decade.
Coming in second in the polls is Joliet followed by Milwaukee, Harper, and College of DuPage. Madison rounds out the region voting.
The Golden Eagles are off to a 4-1 start with victories over NJCAA Division II schools Oakton, McHenry, and Kishwaukee College (#18 in the DII national poll) on the road. RVC's only loss came to NJCAA Division I opponent and the Sporting News #1 ranked program in the nation, Indian Hills CC.
The Golden Eagles are set to host UW-Baraboo on Thursday, November 21 at home with a 7:00 p.m. scheduled tip-off. RVC plays host to Region 24 opponent John Wood (Quincy, IL) in the PEC on Saturday. The women tip at 2:00 p.m. with the men's game scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
