A new program in Rockford is designed to recognize and develop administrators in charge of educating kids.
"Assistant principals are kind of the unsung heroes and those assistant principals ultimately become the principals," said Marvin Keys, General Council with First Rockford Group. "Focusing on those people who will ultimately be the leaders in our schools, we think is an important thing."
First Rockford Group and the Golden Apple Foundation teamed up to introduce the Assistant Principal Development Program. Principals often get recognition for their hard work. This initiative celebrates the time and effort assistant principals contribute every day to make the school system better.
