ROCKFORD (WREX) -

A new youth program launched by Rock Valley College, the YMCA of Rock River Valley, LYDIA of Rockford, and the Workforce Connection will help area teens get their diplomas.

Elevate will serve income eligible youth between the ages of 16 and 21 in Winnebago and Boone counties. The program is for people both in and out of school and will help them obtain their high school diploma or GED through in-school tutoring and GED classes.

Chosen participants will get stipends, help with career readiness and job searches, and supportive services like child care and transportation.

You can learn more and apply for the program at www.rockvalleycollege.edu/elevate. The program is supported by the Workforce Investment Act by the Northern Illinois Workforce Alliance.
